We have been power boating for over 25 years. My wife Gina and I have been married 36 years. We have four daughters, all whom are married, and we have 7 grandchildren with 2 more arriving this fall. Gina and I enjoy boating the Great Lakes and have even ventured into the Canadian waters. Since becoming members at Singapore Yacht Club in 2010 we have enjoyed getting to know so many of the wonderful members and believe there’s no better place to spend the summer months. I have spent a number of years on the SYC Board and Bridge and greatly appreciate the dedication of all I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. It’s continues to be a honor to serve SYC.

Wife Jenny, daughter McKenzie & son Caiden.

I grew up in Saugatuck sailing and power boating on the Kalamazoo from a very young age. My wife and I own and operate a manufacturing business located in Douglas. We love many things about being members at Singapore. A few of our favorites are the sense of community, and sharing in the tradition of boating with our children and others.

Boating has been a passion in my family.  My Great Grandfather, P. H. Hoeft, had a 54” yacht called, “Topez Vll.”  P. H. so loved his boat that in his later years he scuttled the Topez by setting it on fire in Lake Huron near Rogers City.  My father spent summers crewing on the Topez Vll with his grandfather. While my dad never owned a boat larger than an 18’ runabout, he always had friends with sail and power boats up to 50’ who allowed him to use their vessels.  Dad took me on many of his excursions on Lake Huron, Michigan and Superior.  First, Dad taught me navigation using a map, (electronics can go out at any time dad warned) before he taught me how to drive and dock a boat.

Wendy and I feel so blessed and thankful for the many friendships and fun times we have enjoyed with our SYC family.

My husband Mike and I joined

SYC in 1992. He became Commodore in 2002, while I served as Auxiliary President in 2000 and 2001. When he passed away in 2014, I found myself asking "where was I the happiest?", and knew immediately it was the time I spent as a Singapore Yacht Club member, so I rejoined, bought a boat and reconnected with my "SYC family". It is an honor to be a member of the Bridge working with amazing club members, in this new chapter of my life.

Brenda and I recently retired to Saugatuck. We have two adult children.

I have been boating my entire life mostly in Michigan and Wisconsin. Hobbies include all things boating and visiting my six grandchildren in Illinois. We both love spending time at SYC and participating in club events.

A blessing and honor it is to be a 2nd generation member. Along with father
George, bride Sharon, children Josh, Whitney and Finn (Jack Russell), we all
appreciate the Saugatuck conflux of art, water, green space, downtown
community and boating that makes SYC membership so special.  Serving
Singapore and the Saugatuck community with prudence, fortitude, temperance
and justice is a responsibility we warmly receive.

My wife Tam and I grew up on inland lakes in Michigan and so did our children.  We have been boating as a family for over 30 years.  When we came to SYC as transient visitors we fell in love with it and became members immediately. We now spend our summer weekends with our children and grandchildren enjoying the Great town of Saugatuck and all the SYC events where we have made so many Great friends and memories.

I grew up boating in Northern Michigan and raced large sailboats extensively through and after college.  My wife Heather and I stumbled upon Saugatuck a few years ago and decided to relocate to the area and are in process of building a home here. We truly enjoy SYC and feel very fortunate to have been accepted for club membership and welcomed by the greater Singapore community as a whole.

My wife Kim and I live in the Saugatuck/Douglas Community.  Both Kim and I have spent our whole lives in West Michigan.  I grew up boating and fishing on Lake Michigan and work in the boating industry for Coral Gables Yachts.  We have two adult sons. Our Family has loved the camaraderie and the community feeling of Singapore Yacht Club.  The club feels like a family.

Boating has always been a part of our family’s life. As a young person using a 12’ jon boat fishing on the Kalamazoo River, to the days spent with our family on the Manistee River. Our current destination has us power boating on the great lakes and enjoying the comradery at SYC.  We have 3 children who have very fond memories of the time we spent together on the water.  We look forward to all the new memories we will be making with our friends at SYC.

Erin and I have been married since 2006, we have a 15 year old son Brighton who is always roaming the docks (all 6’5” of him, easy to spot).  Our boat HobNobbin resides in slip 33, stop by and say hello.  We have lived in Glenn Mi for the last 17 years, our son attends Saugatuck HS.  I keep telling him how lucky he is to be able to walk 4 blocks from school to get to our boat (I mean what other school can say that).  My first year on the Board is 2023, and I am very curious to see how a Yacht Club runs.
